Immigration Forums: Your Rights, Resources, and What’s Next

Understanding immigration law can be a challenge for many newcomers and mixed-status families in Teton Valley. Recognizing this need, HRCTV has hosted regular legal forums in partnership with immigration attorneys and advocates to clarify complex policies and empower residents. These sessions offer a welcoming space for questions and direct connections to trusted resources.

At our most recent forum held in Driggs, attendees learned about recent changes to asylum eligibility, the rights of mixed-status families in public settings, and new updates on DACA. Speakers addressed common myths about immigration enforcement and shared practical tips for organizing documents and preparing for legal scenarios. More than 80 community members participated, asking thoughtful questions and connecting with nonprofit partners.

We also provide post-forum follow-ups—offering one-on-one appointments, document review assistance, and guidance in finding pro bono legal representation. Since launching these programs, HRCTV has supported over 20 families in need of legal help, offering them clarity, confidence, and access to justice.

These forums reinforce our belief that knowledge is power. By collaborating with legal experts and amplifying their insights within our community, we’re making legal support accessible and practical. We’re already planning more sessions this year; check our calendar for dates and spread the word: knowledge protects families.
